Every knitter needs one! These handy square rulers are used for measuring gauge swatches - knit or crocheted, and in any type of yarn. Simply hold the tool up against your work and count how many stitches fit inside the cut out square (along the bottom for stitch gauge and up the side for row gauge). The bottom measurements are in inches and centimetres are marked on the right side.
To check the size of needle just slide it into one of the holes. You will need to keep testing the holes until you find the one that it can just fit through without any or almost zero wiggle room. That will determine your needle size.
Our gauges also contain rulers for ease when working, these is an extra hole allowing you to attach to a keychain or string to your project bag.
Because they are made of a natural material, the appearance of each tool may slightly vary.
The rectangular gauge ruler also pictured, can be purchased here.
