This soft, luxurious silk is produced in Italy, following ethical, technical and environmental standards in order to create a yarn free from harmful chemicals suitable for everyone, including babies and children.
Silk is known to regulate heat, and can be worn all year round. It absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture while still feeling dry against your skin, so it is especially suitable for summer wear. At the same time, silk, like wool, has insulating properties, retaining heat in cold weather. All of which is perfect for Canadian weather!
The silk chrysalis evolved into moths, thereby allowing them to complete their lifecycle. Knitting for Olive Pure Silk is made of silk threads from broken cocoons, where the silk worms have evolved into moths and escaped from the cocoon. This is a very time consuming process and the final result is less smooth, but more ethical, than other silk.
Pure Silk is spun in a mill that follows ethical, technical and environmental standards creating yarns free from harmful chemicals. The yarn is certified according to the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX.
