It was love at first sight with this yarn!
Marla is made from two strands of lighter-weight yarn that have been dyed in the wool and then plied together. The gorgeous colours of this 2-ply "Barber Pole" style yarn create and effect similar to handspun or Spin Cycle Dyed in the Wool. When worked, Marla creates a marled fabric, where the colours are uniquely distributed.
Marla is a beautiful and bouncy DK weight superwash merino wool. The palette is connected directly to the Sami palette - they coordinate with each other to make gorgeous colour pairings!
If you are looking for pattern inspiration, Cathy knit this with Sami to make Quill Crossing and Killer Queen.

Manos del Uruguay has a unique mission to improve the lives of the Uruguay’s rural women through handcrafts. Every skein of yarn has a tag with the artisan signature and the name of the village where the cooperative is located reminding that behind each handmade item, there is a woman and her story.
We recommend buying enough yarn to complete a project. To give an overall blended effect, we recommend alternating skeins, knitting one or two rows from one skein and then one or two rows from another.
