Beautiful yarn at a great price from Canadian company, Gathering Yarns.
Haynes Creek Heathers is a 100% non-superwash Peruvian highland wool. It is milled in a facility known for quality of fibre, fair treatment of their workers and family (see the Mirasol Project). This mill has recently attained their Fair Trade Certification, and we are proud to support their efforts.
This aran weight yarn comes in richly heathered colours, perfect for items that you want to last - think hats, mittens and cabled or colourwork sweaters.
Haynes is a rural farming community in central Alberta, within the county of Lacombe. The hamlet is named after the creek that runs near it, which in turn was named after one of the early prairie pioneers. Gathering Yarn founder Cindy's family moved to the area three generations ago, and her dad established his own farm a kilometre from Haynes in 1963. Cindy named this yarn after this wonderful community full of memories of bike trips, skipping rocks and exploring muddy creek banks.
