I have LOTS to tell you this week! I’ve been a busy busy bee!
My class schedule for the fall is COMPLETE!! Now, if you happen to be reading this and you are an instructor at the store—please let me know if the dates work for you. Teehee.
I’m thrilled with the fun classes we’ve thunk up for you this season!
Total class overhaul. Our theme this fall is FUN with yarn! You’ll see what I mean when you look at the cool stuff we have planned.
Enjoy and sign up early—we have LOTS of classes only running once or twice for the whole season.

TOP DOWN BABY SWEATER (1, 3 hours session): $75 (yarn and pattern book included)
We've invited the Gemmell sister's of " Cabin Fever Fame" down to teach their famous no-sew baby sweater. Yes, NO-SEW! Either cardigan or pull over, chunky or fine, whatever the variable, this class will show you how to make every baby sweater you've wanted to knit. And the best part--NO sewing when you're done! It's a knitting miracle!
Deb will also talk about design, readjusting your sweater to fit your gauge and lots of other tips and tricks to take your knitting to the next level. This is a great class for anyone interested in designing their own sweater or someone who wants to knit a big sweater for themselves eventually.
PLUS, there are two events NOT on the schedule yet that I will briefly tell you about to peak your interest…let me know if you’re, um, interested.
Yarn Tasting:
We will be selling 24 tickets to a special night of trying out all of the fun new yarns in the store. There will be refreshments, prizes, games, hoots and hollers! More on that night of knitting debauchery to come…
Sylvie Coat Knit Along
Starting in mid-September we will be hosting a knit along with this jacket as our muse…oooh lala.
We’re going to tackle it together—so don’t cry. It’s chunky and on BIG needles….WE CAN DO IT!
PLUS, we will be knitting it out of the Briggs and Little wool the pattern calls for, which makes the cost of this project a total of about 70 bucks. WHAAAAT? Smile! Come to the store to pick your colour! Yarn will be ordered on Tuesday Sept 1st—put it in your calendars!
AMERICO is here!!!! The cottons and linens have arrived and just WAIT till you see this stuff. Look at how cute I look in this picture!
This is the Kayla Shrug, knit out of soft and heavenly pima cotton. This pattern is just a rectangle and a circle put together in an ingenious way. I’m in awe. (god, I need a haircut) Come in and try it on.
PLUS I got in the most BEAUTIFUL kits from Sweater Kits. Gorgeous shawl kits, hat and scarf kits out of hand-dyed alpaca, mulberry silk with, like, TEN one skein project ideas, doggie sweater kits…on and on. Man she’s good! And from Newmarket! What a combo.
PLUS PLUS all my Cascade 220 felting yarn will be here this weekend. FINALLY!
PLUS PLUS PLUS I got in some great kits from Lanaknits Hemp! I will not give up on hemp. I LOVE it. I’m wearing my tank top made from hemp as I write this, seriously. But I get it, it’s soooo rooouuuugh. (insert whining customer voices here) But, lookie at these great ideas…keeping in mind that hemp is naturally mold resistant, antibacterial, wash and dryable…
How perfect is all that?!
