Does this yarn make me look fat?

(before I forget–we’re open the usual hours this long weekend. Sat. 10-5pm, Sun. 12-4, Mon. 12-4)

(before I forget–it’s a great time to shop.  Lots of things on sale.  Get winter yarns for a song.  La la la!)

So…I’ve been working on this amazing pattern from Mags Kandis….the Amiga Cardigan. It’s in a lacy cotton that’s light as air called Cotton Flame from Americo. But, I’m not feeling so lean this summer.

The cold wet weather has prevented me from spending time outside doing my favourite thing: exercising. Ha!  Just kidding.  But I do feel like this summer is getting off to a slow start.  I most certainly will NOT be ready for bikini season this year.  You?

I may not be very light, but check out this yarn…only 2 balls. That’s a cardigan that weighs exactly 200 grams.  That’s less than half a pound of sweater.  Just what one needs for this ‘slowly starting’ summer.

Here are a couple of pics I found on Ravelry…how pretty is this cardigan?  I’m doing mine in the same colour as Dani’s (chili red).  I like to copy Dani–I know if I do it’ll all turn out alright.

I can’t wait to have mine done–and, yes, I will finish it, because I can’t wait to wear it!!!

And on another note…

We (meaning Jacqueline) made another Clapotis. We (meaning the Unwind gals) LOVE this pattern.

We did it out of a beautiful new yarn called Tussah Silk from Sublime.

Can I get a fist pump for Sublime?  It is one of the most exquisite yarns on the market.  And they’ve done it again.  This silk is a dk weight, perfect for light summer tops or drapey summer wraps….like this. And, as usual, the colours are soft and elegant.

NEW YARN ALERT:  After another great class with Deb Gemmell I decided to bring in her amazing Cotton Tweed yarn.  It’s a light DK and people are loving it.  Great colours, great price!  $8 for 100 grams.  Amazing!
