Introducing the 13 second scarf…
Yup….you heard me.
But WAIT!! There’s not even knitting required. Weird, huh?
Every year we are bombarded by trends in the yarn biz. This past winter and spring we saw how super-frilly yarns can affect the knitting world. Wowza.
This year there will be more texture, frills and thrills than I’ve ever seen in a ball of yarn!
It’s so much fun.
This year if ALL your friends aren’t bedecked with frills and fluff, you are not holding up your end of the knitter/giftee relationship…seriously. You have NO EXCUSE.
Check this stuff out!
Katia Triana is back and brought bling! Beautiful frills with a little metallic wow factor. Enjoy.
And here’s a more understated take on frills.
Soft and subtle, this scarf yarn will add a touch class to your autumn wardrobe…all the way from Park Avenue.
Katia’s newest yarn…Park Avenue. There are beautiful natural colours but the red and purple are out of this world.
Doesn’t she look like she belongs on Park Ave?? Yikers.
Ok….here’s something a little crazy. Another new yarn from Katia and it’s a mind blower.
Grab your broom stick handles….25mm needles for this one. It’s called Kimbo.

And finally….the 13 second scarf you’ve all been waiting for.
It’s called Aloha and you don’t need to knit to do it.

Just pull one loop through another until you get to the end of the ball–like a big crochet chain. Get it?
13 seconds.
BAM!

AMAZING!!
And speaking of amazing…
CROCHETERS, are you listening???
Look at this sample that came in this week. I’m sure you’ll agree, it as much fun as a blanket should be.

17 balls of Spud and Chloe in every colour under the rainbow.

Every season I try to do a wee theme. I can’t help it. I’m corny that way.
This fall the theme is HATS. I love ‘em. I can’t wear ‘em, but I love ‘em.
Let’s face it–some people are hat people. Their heads are well shaped and they have good hair that compliments hats.
I’m not lucky enough to be a hat person HOWEVER I am lucky enough to be of that age that makes me say WHATEVS! I’m wearing it anyway. Can I get a whooooot!!
So go ahead and talk about me behind my back. Don’t care. Love my hat.
And the QUEEN of hat design is woolly wormhead.
I’ve got tons of her patterns in the store and many of her hats knit up so you can see if you are a hat person or not. And then decide if you care.
Here are some of the pattern I have in stock and samples made…

And 2 of my favourite hats are made up in samples now at the store as well.
Both from Jared Flood….Koolhaus and Turn a Square.

And one more thing then I promise I’ll be done….
I’ve loved this shawl on ravelry for a long time so we finally had it knit up.
The Study Shawl by Veera Valimaki–search it on ravelry. Appropriate time of year no?
Here’s her version and below is ours. Lovely. 2 balls of sock yarn.
Perfect for your hard working student who may be a little bit….missed. Ahem. I’m not pointing any fingers…at Sandra’s daughter. ; )

Ok–that’s it for now!! I’ll say adios.
Wendy
Here are the kids…fist day of school. Looking a little skeptical.
Sacha wrote in his agenda yesterday that his favourite part of school was lunch.
Jill won’t wear anything but those pink cut off boots that are too small for her.
Sigh. It’s gonna be a long year : )
